Meet the Founder

Jamina L. Smith

A Des Moines, Iowa native, Jamina L. Smith was nurtured by her parents to embrace the world and people around her and to always look for opportunities to serve. At the age of 11, Jamina took her first international trip to Japan, and she often says that this trip was “the trip that broke the glass ceiling” for her mind, body and soul.

Jamina grew to love languages and culture and continues to have many abroad experiences that shape the way she sees the world and it’s people. As a study abroad student to Venezuela in 2001, she experienced firsthand the perils of unrest and people crying out for support. As domestic missionaries in the U.S., she and her husband have encountered, nurtured, and taken in youth who were capable, but ill-exposed, needing a life changing opportunity. Jamina has always believed that the work and opportunity to serve others is not only abroad, but also domestically in the U.S. as well. All of these experiences help to guide Jamina to her current work, INULINK.

In 2018, Jamina had the opportunity to travel to Nairobi, Kenya. On this trip she set foot in the “Motherland” (Africa) for the first time, a time that she will never forget and later came to know as divine providence. Jamina met a man named Jerald who had a dream to support children and their families much like her own dreams. She envisioned serving Jerald to help him build his dreams, and in 2020 chartered INULINK non-profit organization.

The name InULink speaks to the simple nature of intuition. The still, small voice in all of us that tells us when to take action, particularly on behalf of another. Jamina holds that if we listen to that voice, we will keenly know who to serve, how to serve, and the right time to serve. This has been the guiding star for all of INULINK's operations. INULINK's goal is to link to others spurring them forward to achieve their dreams.
